It is sohhhhhh strangggge! The Koran Definitively instructs those believers who read it to murder and, at best, belittle, everyone who is not a Muslim - and yet, miraculously, we assume that Muslims, down to the last man, will not believe the Koran, which very clearly and graphically orders it's reader to do these things! This is exceedingly strange. It is the number one mystery in the world! Even made more strange by the fact that the Koran requires that everyone who reads it believe that it is perfect and divine and alive and totally unchangeable - and anyone who disagrees with commandment from God in any degree whatsoever will be tortured for an eternity with pain and horrors unimaginable for ever and ever! Yet, everyone in the West is Surprised when someone like me says, "Fools! Every Musilim walking the earth today, is a potential murderer!" Why is this happening? Only one thing can explain it to me! There is an Alla, and he hates Christians and Jews! How else can you explain their amazing successes! We are doomed, doomed, doomed! That big pot of boiling human excrement is bubbling away, waiting for thou and I.

Saudi Arabia gets over 90% of it's revenues from oil, as do many oil-rich Islamic middle eastern societies. President Bush, in his State of the Union Address, two years ago, said, "America is addicted to oil." He was right. Since the recent spike in oil prices, that happened around a couple years ago, there has been, of course, due to the price spike, additional revenues flowing to the middle east. How much has the increase in oil revenue been? 500 billion a year, according to Victor Hanson, writer and historian. That's not the total amount of money flowing into the middle east. That's just the INCREASE in revenue. And of course, some of that money ends up in the hands of terrorists. The Bin Ladens are a very wealthy family in Saudi Arabia. Their son, Osama, has his roots in oil money, and that's where he gets funding for terrorism. Oil money is funding terrorism. Americans and Europeans and Japanese, and now Indians and Chinese, both with developing economies, but little oil, are indirectly funding terrorism, because of their dependence on middle eastern oil.

At the same time, Global Warming is threatening the future of the planet.

And, it's not discussed much, but we are on the downward slope of "Peak Oil". Look it up in Wikipedia if you aren't familiar with it, but the world is running out of oil, very quickly. And absolutely everything in a modern economy depends on oil. Without oil, all advanced economies would collapse, to horse and buggy days, instantly. And guess where most of the rest of the oil in the world is? The middle east, in the home of radical Islam. Now, basic economics tells us, the less there is of a valued commodity, the greater the price will be. What this means is, for the next half a century, which is how long the bulk of the oil in the middle east will last, the price of it should go up, and up. This means what we are in the middle of is the largest transfer of wealth, in human history. The developed world, and the world which is developing quickly, namely India and China, will all be paying more and more for oil. This means oil rich countries that sponsor terrorism will have more and more money, for at least half a century. This will cause enormous problems for the world. And the intellectual centre of radical Islam, is our supposed friends, in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia declard war on the West. How do we respond? We are making them wealthy beyond their wildest dreams, that's how.

This means we are funding both sides, in the War on Terror. America especially, foots a very expensive bill to fight belligerent Muslim enemies. At the same time, America also sends enormous amounts of money to it's Muslim enemies, who turn around and try to destroy our societies, in the West, through terrorism and massive immigration. (And America supplies military equipment to them)

How crazy is all this? Very crazy. The West is paying for it's own destruction.

So what's the answer to all this? The developed world must "Go Green". We must get off oil, and thus dry up Islamic middle eastern economies. There are plenty of practical ways to get off oil, from the middle east. But they are not easy. They are hard, and expensive, and will take decades. Amory Lovins, physicist, wrote several books, 30 years ago, explaining exactly how to wean modern economies off oil. If leaders in the West had enough sense 30 years ago to listen to him, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Going green means middle eastern countries would see 90% of their revenues dry up. This means their societies would either collapse, or they would be much much more "agreeable" and willing to reform their societies, to root out radical Islam. Right now, they have no motivation to do so. Why should they? They are rich, and we need them, and we don't have the guts and intelligence and committment to get off oil, which would kill them.

There are many ways to fight and win a war. Ronald Reagan won the Cold War, without firing a shot, through economics. He knew the Soviet economy was much smaller than the American economy. So he devised a plan to substantially increase the size of the American military. This was a very expensive undertaking. The Soviets of course, felt they had to match American spending, dollar for dollar, so they re-directed resources in their economy, into the military. This stole away so many resources from other areas of their economy, that eventually their whole society collapsed internally, as a result.

The best way to fight radical Islam is to get the economies of the world off oil. Economic warfare would defeat radical Islam, far better than bullets. This would collapse Muslim societies, leaving them too weak to challenge the West. A starving man causes no trouble.

Tim Bitts, well, OK, but how would you chalange the Saudis economically? [Considering our propensity to love to take Oil Money Bribes], well, looks totally impossible doesn't it? Here is another idea - why not out the Koran for what it is? Tell the truth on what the Koran really requires of its adherents? Shoot a hole in the Religiously Correct idea that there can never be such a thing as a psychotic and intrinsically evil main stream religion. There is absolutely no other way to rid this abomination out of the hearts and minds of our effete western brothers and sisters who have grown too lazy and intellectually dead to fight against these alien invaders unless they are made to see with their own eyes the horror that is the evil and psychotic Koran.

There are different and good ways to fight fascist radical religious ideas. Fight for freedom of speech, including the right to offend. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. What this website is doing is exposing evil ideas. The problem is, most people don't hear about the evil ideas, within Islam, from the mainstream media.

I got an email this morning, over the internet, that was unsolicited, that was an ad, for a product I did not order. I don't know much about sending large bundles of information, to a wide audience over the internet works, since learning about computers doesn't much interest me, but I think in the future, "spam" will be used to fight bad ideas, like radical Islam, by making people aware of them. Computers can be used to reach a lot of people, in a short amount of time, so I think somebody will figure this out, in the future, and use it to disseminate more information about fighting evil religious ideas.

As to your question about fighting Saudis, economically, I think that will happen. One of the effects of $100 a barrel oil, is that there is more research, into alternative energy, than at any time in history. There is a lot of money to be made, if alternatives to oil can be found. I keep up, as an investor, in this field, and I can tell you, there are quite a few very serious contenders being developed in labs around the world, to replace oil. Nature produces gases naturally, that are very close to oil, as we know it, and biological research if figuring out how to produce oil and gas from bacteria and plants. We already have corn-based ethonal, and that is being used to supplement oil and gas, and that's a good start, but hardly adequate to solve the whole problem. However, within 5 years, various new products that are alternatives to oil, will start to impact the market.

And oil is the entire reason for the power of the Saudis. It is the entire reason for the current power of radical Islam. Once the world's addiction to naturally occuring oil stops, so does the power of radical Islam. And very promising research, into energy alternatives, to replace oil, is going on in labs around Europe, and the Unites States, so the days of the power of oil-based radical Islam, are numbered.

This means the days of the Saudis are numbered. And the brighter ones, over there, know it. That's why, they are desperately trying to diversify their economy, for when the oil runs out, but are fighting a losing battle, as their culture isn't fond of work, as we know it. (even with all their oil money, unemployment in Saudi Arabia is around 40%) Also, radical Islam has a severe weakness, that hinders Saudi plans to diversify their economy: Islam, the basis of their culture, is so intellectually closed-minded that it can't adapt. It has no history of doing so. That's why Osama bin Laden is trying to bring back the middle ages. It was the last time Islam could compete on equal footing, for power, with Europeans. For the last 1000 years, there has been virtually no intellectual output from Islamic societies. Islam for whatever reasons does not encourage independent thought. This is their fatal weakness.

As an example of this, look up, some time, IQ scores from around the world. The average IQ in Saudi Arabia or Iran or Iraq is 70. The European IQ average is around 100. That's a significant difference. I think the reason for that difference is culture. Their culture does not believe in developing mental life, as we know it. And what is the basis of their culture? Islam. So, how do you fight the Saudis? First, by understanding their weakness, and what it means.

So, in the short run, they will increase in power. And when I say short run, I mean the next 50 years. The world, as I said, is running out of oil. Changes will come, to get the developed world off oil, and much research is happening, as I said, but change will still be slow. It will be several decades, probably close to 50 years, is my guess, before the transition, off oil, is complete.

Arab power, based on being lucky enough to sit on land that has oil on it, is undeserved luck and prosperity. Muslims did nothing to develop oil. They were aware of this substance, thoughout their history, but had no use for it, till Europeans came along. Developing oil was all done by Western technology. Oil is completely useless without a modern economy, to give it value. By itself, oil is just useless material. Muslims proved incapable of developing science, and a modern economy, and a use for oil. And oil is the basis of their current power. So all of their power is based on luck. The luck of having oil, and being in close proximity to Europeans, who developed a need for the substance. Without oil, Saudis would just be a starving nothing of a country.

However, in the end, although they are currently lucky, to have the wealth based on oil, in the end, luck will run out for the Saudis. In the end, the only real basis of power is knowledge, not luck. And when it comes to knowledge, Europeans have an absolutely enormous advantage over the Saudis. There has been many thousands of times as much intellectual knowledge produced in Europe, than in Muslim countries. I know the current intellectual fashion is to pretend other cultures are equal to European cultures, but personally, I don't believe it. I don't believe Europeans are genetically superior to other people, but I believe they have developed a set of cultures that are vastly superior to anything that has come before, and is vastly superior to Islam.

European culture is based on knowledge and culture, and Islamic culture is based on superstition. And I think, in the end, knowledge will beat superstition.

Western science created a use and value for oil. Western science will create an alternative to oil. In this manner, Saudi power will eventually be destroyed.

There is a saying in Saudi Arabia: "My grandfather rode a camel. My father drove an automobile. I fly an airplane. My grandson will ride a camel."

I agree with that.

My biggest worry, is not the long term power of radical Islam. Oil money is funding the rise of radical Islam, and it will give the world trouble for less than 100 years, before oil runs out, and the power of radical Islam is destroyed.

My biggest worry, rather, is Muslim immigrants. As the native Indians found out, in North America, once you let in immigrants, into a place, they don't leave. They take things over. If Europe keeps letting in Muslim immigrants, then these people, and their descendents, will be in Europe, long after the oil runs out. And if Muslims continue to have lots and lots of children, as they are now doing, and if Europeans continue to have virtually no children, as they are doing now, then the future of Europe really will belong to Islam.

My guess, as to what will actually happen, in Europe, in the next 100 years, is that European governments will not listen to common sense. They will continue to allow massive immigration, into European countries, from Islamic ones. Some time mid-century, the Muslim population in Europe will grow large enough to challenge Europeans for control and dominance of Europe. Then, around that time, there will be a series of bloody European civil wars, between European post-Christians, and radical Muslims, who by then will control several large European countries.

The past 2000 years of European history have been peace, punctuated by a large series of bloody wars, occuring with great regularity. My guess is, this pattern will continue. As radical Islam vies for dominance of Europe, eventually Europeans will fight back, and win.

It should be an interesting century.....

you are right, Tim Bitts, as always - but, as right as logic and idealism often are, when you throw in the Human Condition, especially as it is today, these two seeds will fall on barren land. As long as wishfull thinking rules the western mind, oil money will by off every significant vote for a life affirming policy of survival in the west. When you sweeten PR efforts toward presenting people with beautiful fairy land pictures of the Sheik of Arabie, and Sinbad the sailor, and evil Catholic Crusaders, (we are talking Billions and Billion here) you have a sure fire cinch chance of getting ninety per-cent to go along with it - and none of the rest of what you suggest is going to happen unless we succeed in shooting down that fairy land image. There is only one way to do that: Out the Koran, and label it clearly for what it is! It is beyond dispute the most morally corrupt bible in the universe, and it shamelessly calls for the cold blooded murder of innocent people! It is clearly immoral and calls for violent sedition - clearly! But, on the bright side, all we have to do is explain the Koran and we have won, and all those other things you suggest will be unnecessary. The end of Muslimism is in their Book, all one need do is take a look! So, all we need is courageous people to stand up and start yelling, "THE KORAN IS AN EVIL AND PSYCHOTIC BIBLE AND IT CAN'T BE FIXED AND ANYONE WHO BELIEVES WHAT IT SAYS IN TOTAL IS A POTENTIAL MURDERED." And if 12 people will do that the Muslim problem will go away. But so far, as far as I can tell, there is only one.

I am all in favour of religious free expression, including the right to "out" the Qu'ran, if you so chose. You are very brave. As I recall, the great-grand nephew of Dutch artist Vincent Van Gough was murdered a few years ago, for making a film that was critical of Islamic treatment of women.

Although I am a religious person myself, and follow a peaceful version of Christianity, I read a lot from author Christopher Hitchens, who is very critical of all religion.

Tonite, in my city, I am going to see and hear a Christian pastor and a Muslim teacher, who work together in Africa, to bring religious unity among people. It should be interesting to hear what they have to say. I have known a lot of Muslims in the past, and I know a lot of them are good people, and a lot of branches of Islam are good.

But I have no doubt, because I have read it, that the Qu'ran has a great deal of evil things to say. So does the Bible, my holy book. I have always believed holy books are inspired by God, but are not perfect. It is up to human beings to filter out impurities, through what I call evolutionary theology. Which means throwing out the obvious junk and imperfections, in holy books, and looking for inspiration, in the good parts. My belief is that this process hasn't happened much, in Islam, and that's why there is such trouble with a radical element, within Islam.

And that's why, radical Islam is very, very dangerous. My hope is that as time goes on, the radicals within Islam will be put down. Within Christianity, it took centuries for this modification of Christian views to evolve. My worry is that it will take centuries, withing Islam, and there is no real guarantee moderation of views will take place, in some sort of Islamic Reformation, like the Christians had their reformation. What worries me is not the majority of Muslims. Nine out of ten Muslims are harmless. But it is my belief that about ten percent are very very dangerous. As an example of this, I saw an opinion poll done, worldwide, of Muslims, and that is exactly what they said: About one in ten Muslims approve of holy war, where innocent men women and children are killed through acts of terrorism. Very sick. That's why Europe will have a lot of problems with Muslims. If ten percent of a growing population want me dead, that's a lot of people who hate me, and want to kill me.

There are not a lot of ridiculous things written in Your Bible, (even if it is a Jewish or a Protestant one) In fact, there are not ridiculous things written there - Those 'witches' mentioned there were poisoners and abortionists for the many prostitutes who were not called "whores" (read horrors) because they sold sex acts for a little money, but because the only way you could be a prostitute in those days was to abort (murder you own little baby!)the inevitable baby. As for God's commandments to kill all the Cananites living on the lands they had been living on for hundreds of years, well, they not only passed their children through the 'divine fire'(mostly girls) but they did abortion after abortion (their Gnostic religion informed them that souls used to fly between the star before they were enmired in filty flesh by intercourse - and needed liberation (a child who is passed through the fire dies with what looks like a big smile on her face - gets to fly again between the stars she does). Once a human sets his or her mind to a belief system that requires the complete cessation of thought, like Islam, there is only one way out - war. So, it was absolutely necessary for God to order the death and replacement of those baby murderers - God hates abortion and baby murder, not whores or Cannanites per se. Not so with the Koran! The Koran desires that people be mudered just for what they believe to be true or not true for the moment - there is all the difference in the world - in the Bible, faith is open-ended and seeking is encouraged and allowed (consider all the horrible mistakes all the prophets and saints and fathers of the Chuch and Patriarks made, and were forgiven for - however, there is no room for free will in any religion that takes the Koran the least bit seriously. A closer reading of the Bible will show you all this - but, after all is said and done, the Bible is made up of holy men's understanding of God - the Koran is the exact word of God written down by robots who never made one mistake - therefore the Koran can never be changed or challanged and must be worshipped and regarded as God. And it says we must regard the cold-blooded murders of innocent people as good and holy, and it says that we should not regard abortion as murder - but, it is so psychotic and I could go on forever quoating absurdities, but why bother? It is instantly obvious that the Koran is Krazy. But, the Bible, not even a little! - but even if it was, there is room in it for human interaction and input, but, in the Koran, not the least bit so! If it comes to war with Islam, so be it. They will lose, badly, but the world will suffer a great deal. We'll see, I guess. My guess is, you're right, there will eventually be another series of war, in Europe, between Islam and the remainder of the West. If they are so intransigent, and don't want to fit into the modern world, and moderate the crazier aspects of their religion, I guess it's inevitable. If it happens, I'd rather it happen sooner than later. If some crazy terrorist were to detonate an atomic bomb over Paris, the reaction from Europe would destroy radical Islam, in a hurry. If it happened 50 years from now, with many more millions of Muslim immigrants in place, it would be a long and complicated and bloody civil war. We'll see, I guess. When I saw the car bombings in France, a year or two back, between Muslim "youths" and French police, my first reaction, was that the European Civil War has started. America had it's civil war. Time for Europe's civil war, I guess.

On the topic of biologically derived fuel from bacteria, there was another announcememt today, of progress toward synthetic fuel from micro-organisms, out of the lab, LS9 Biofuels, that is doing the best research. The source of radical Muslims power is many things, including a crazy set of ideas, as you say. But without money, they die, since their culture is too inept to even feed themselves without oil. A replacememt for oil is on the war, ending their power. The end is near, for them.

tim bitts - I agree with you - sooner is much better'n later looking at it your way (which is the way it really is I think) as for alternative fuels: They could do it in a heart beat if'n they wanted to! Switch grass or even that damned MaraJauna (not corn of course) or seaweed - but, alas, between what could be a clean and free tomorrow is Oil Money Bribes!
