The "gospel" of Barnabas is a an invention of the 16th century. This fact is not in dispute by anyone but muslims. Islam's natural hostility to critical thinking has lead to very weak apologetics. Muslims use very weak arguments to attack, and never allow any sort of criticism to their religion, because it would quickly crumble. And why not, the foundation is built on sand, not rock!
Of course he is correct! And it is unfortunate because the Koran is the only Bible belonging to a mainstream religion that calls those who believe in the unalterable perfection of it, to support cold-blooded murder - are we not doomed? Contrarily to what you are convinced of, when it comes to inter-religious dialogs, Christianity and Catholicism in particular have much more taboos. Some if these taboos are inherent to the foundations of these religions. When the Pope invites rabbis or imams for dialogs, he forbid them to invoke the Christian concept of the Saint Trinity which in a normal monotheist religion would be considered blaspheme.
